FAQs
Do I need dance experience?
No need at all! We can teach everything you need to know step by step. It will be up to you to sass it up in your own style. We always have options for you so everyone can enjoy learning new dance choreography.
What do I wear?
Most importantly, wear whatever you feel is comfortable! T-shirt or a vest top, track suit bottoms or shorts.
You can take your lessons either in bare feet or wear heels that will stay on and have a good grip on the soles.
If you are bringing your own high heels, please make sure there are no buckles or jewels on the front of the shoes. Please also avoid wearing watches, bracelets or rings as it can cause scratches on the poles. To get your hands on some Sugar Pole uniform, why not have a look at our shop?
How much does it cost?
There's a number of prices depending on what type of class you want to sign on to. There are also various discounts and packages available. See our "Classes and Prices" page for more.
What should I bring?
Water! You may also want to bring a towel, hand grip (we sell this if you need it), but most importantly your willingness to learn!
Will the classes help me lose weight and tone up?
Absolutely! It will also depend on your commitment and your normal daily routine and diet of course but we have seen many of our students transform themselves to a much fitter and healthier version of themselves.
We will take you through some cardio and MSE (muscle, strength and endurance) training during warm up so no doubt you will get strong for that pole!
What is the weight limit?
Pole fitness is for people of all sizes, however the weight limit for Xpole is 115kg or 18 stone.
Where can I park?
Our Wellingborough studio has a private parking available for users of the fitness centre.
At our Northampton studio there are no restrictions in the evening after 6pm and all day Sunday. For daytime sessions, please find the 2 hour parking bays located on Cranstoun Street, Robert Street or Margret Street, otherwise there are plenty of spaces available at Upper Mounts car park for 60p/hour or £1.20/2 hours.
Which class should I choose if I'm a beginner?
Our Wellingborough classes are always mixed-ability, however if you are interested in joining us in Northampton, we would suggest coming to either the PAYG Monday lunch time pole at 13:00 - 14:00, or Wednesdays 19:00-20:00 if you don't want to commit to a course, or Wednesdays 20:10-21:25 or Thursdays 18:30-19:45 lessons if you prefer to stick with a course!
What happens if I miss a course class?
If there is a space available, there is no waitlist, and the minimum number is met, then you may make up your missed lessons on a drop-in class. However, no refunds will be given for the price difference and all missed lessons need to be claimed during that course period.
Is there a bulk buy option available?
Please check our classes & prices page for bulk buy options, as the packages vary.
Can I cancel my course once it has started?
Unfortunately we are unable to offer any refunds once the course has started, however you may make up for missed lessons on a PAYG session providing that it is within the same period of the course and there is availability in the class.
What happens at the end of a course?
By the end of the course you will have learned a whole routine and hopefully nailed a few more tricks. The final class is themed, and there is the opportunity to have some high quality photos taken of any new tricks that you have learned over the period of the course! Courses restart the following week (available to book 2 weeks before the start date) where a new routine is introduced and you can carry on where you left off with your own personal development.
Can I participate whilst pregnant?
Pole fitness can be quite testing on your body but you will know your own limits better than anyone, so it is entirely at your own discretion if you would like to continue during pregnancy. If you are unsure, please get advice from your doctor first. Due to the difficulty of some of the more advanced moves, we would not recommend pole during pregnancy for absolute beginners.
Is there an age limit?
To attend group sessions you must be 16 or over, however we are able to cater for younger students through private tuition, sessions for children are £25 for 45 mins, please drop us a message if you are interested!
